When you return home
Medjugorje is for us what Mount Tabor was for the disciples: to convince us that it is possible to live love and to experience the glory of God. But then one has to return home, to one’s own Jerusalem, to one’s own daily life, to work, to school, among people who do not share the same convictions.
Yes, one has to return home.
In Medjugorje, you prayed for long hours in the church. It was not difficult for you to climb Cross Mountain no matter if the weather was good or bad. You also found time for Apparition Hill. And you were fine. Now forget the parish community of Medjugorje and go back home. In your heart, take along the places and events of Medjugorje.
We know one thing: at home, you have your own Cross Mountain, your own cross and your own suffering. You left it at home and it is waiting for you. But have no fear. Križevac is not more difficult to climb than your Cross Mountain back home, but it became understandable and accessible for many since, by the will of God, the lower hill, the Apparition Hill, became a place of intense communion with God through Mary. Therefore, although your Cross Mountain back home—often built with troubles and sufferings for which you are neither responsible nor to blame—is standing and waiting for you, build a smaller hill next to it, build your own Apparition Hill, your own Mount Tabor. Then your Cross Mountain too will take on a new colour, will be wrapped up in a new peace and hope. Build the Apparition Hill in one corner of your apartment or house. Place there a crucifix, a candle, the Bible, rosary beads and a kneeler. There you will understand your Cross Mountain, your passage and your trespassing [trespassing?]. By the side of Apparition Hill, Cross Mountain becomes a place of resurrection, for no Cross Mountain is there to destroy you, but to help you attain salvation.
Remember well: Our Lady has taken Christ’s words seriously. She climbs with you your Cross Mountain, your Calvary, as she said in the message for Christmas, 1986:
“Dear children! Also today, I give thanks to the Lord for all that He is doing to me, especially for this gift to be with you also today. Dear children, these are the days in which the Father gives special graces to all those who open their hearts. I bless you, and I want that you too, dear children, become aware of these graces and put everything at God’s disposal, so that He may be glorified through you. My heart carefully watches over each one of your steps. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (25 December 1986)
This message is not only for those who are in Medjugorje, or for the visionaries only. It is given to me, to you, to everyone. Go home, forever blessed by the Forever Blessèd, and build an altar, on which you will start to offer daily your crosses and pains, your woes and troubles, your hopes and joys, your love and faith. In this way, you will have your church, your Cross Mountain and your Apparition Hill. Thus, God will be with you, and Mary will carefully watch over each one of your steps.
Go in peace. Carry peace and blessing.
